This is my Sting Ray necklace.
I made it for myself, because I never make anything for myself.
The Story behind this one is a happy memory and this necklace will forever commemorate it.
This past May, for The Renaisannce Man's Birthday, we took the two little ones to Brookfield Zoo. We got ticket to see the dolphin show and to pet the Stingrays at Sting Ray Bay
Ruby Gloom and I were very excited to pet and feed the sting rays. One particular sting ray was really excited to eat.
The first time Ruby tried, the Stingray sucked up the fish and then tried to eat her finger, jerking her arm down and sending her into a fit of giggles.
She thought it was hilarious. I thought she was goofing around until the punk ray came around again and tried to take off with my finger!
The Renaissance Man was laughing so hard, trying to take a picture and almost dropped the Padawan into the pool!
When we stopped in the gift shop *because there's always a gift shop* I saw the piece of agate with the sting ray, I new I had to have it for this project!
***Sadly, in July of 2015, a malfunction in the life support system of Sting Ray Bay, led to the deaths of all 54 Sting Rays at the zoo.***
Sting Ray symbolism
Sting rays are sleek and graceful, maneuvering through their environment with ease. They have natural sensors that alerts them to food and dangers and a sharp poisonous barb at the end of its tail that they use to protect themselves.
If Sting ray shows up in your life, it could be a message to be aware of your surroundings. Rely on your sixth sense and trust your intuition. You may even experience tingly sensations.
Don't be afraid to protect yourself if need be.
It could also be a message to stay on course, don't let anyone dull your sparkle or distract you from your treasure!
